This fortuitous foothole-prisoner's cell looks out onto the street, giving him a restricted view of the world outside - mainly of the feet and footwear of his betters as they go about their daily business. A few kind souls even stop occasionally to allow him to kiss their feet!

Do you think the fool realises just how fortuitous he is?

The matron of the house is next to use the lowly porch footslave before she heads off on her shopping trip. Her garb may be traditional, but her sneakers are very modern! Happy Slappy Xmas!

The good-looking – indeed, some would say godlike-looking – Mondieu family, who originally hailed from Haiti but had emigrated some 3 years ago from Port au Prince to, appropriately enough, Port à la Princesse , a small town on the Gynarchy’s north-eastern seaboard, are gathered in the living-room of their modest, terraced house on Xmas day, enjoying their sumptuous, family-Xmas meal.
