Exposed To The Elements
I am very much exposed to the elements up on Hookers’ Hill – especially on a cold and frosty winter’s night. The wind blows right through me! What matters, however, is that my customers are wrapped up all nice and cosy and warm as they kindly stop to have their shoes or boots licked. Nobody gives a damn about me!
That’s why I’m glad to see that my current customer-mistress is well wrapped-up against the cold – with a thick coat, a hat, gloves and thick, warming, argyle-patterned socks which tower over my humble head. Truly it is an honour for the likes of shivering me to lickshine the warm boots of a superior customer-mistress like this.
She doesn’t speak to me – and nor should she. For I am, in every sense of the word, beneath her.
Note too, the sore, purple shiner over my right eye. Not only am I exposed to the elements, but also to the wrath of my customers as I serve them here on Hookers’ Hill. They are completely at liberty to kick me in the face – and many do!
