Glum

The taciturn, middle-aged customer-mistress certainly appears very glum and unforgiving as she glowers down at me whilst I lickshine her sneakers. I must do a good job, or my shoulders will doubtless feel the biting sting of the authorities' whip!

As she turns to walk away from me I have no idea whether she's satisfied with my efforts or not. What I do know is that her sneakers and socks are fully deserving of my respect.

Both Mean Business

Both the formally-attired businesswoman, and the casually-dressed student, mean business when they rest their weary feet on the bus-stop footrest – the former on her laptop, the latter on her phone! Though, in the case of the student, at one point she actually kicks off her flip flops and uses the slave’s face as a bare-foot rest!
