She strikes the public footslave as being somewhat 'grungy' in her appearance, based on her unkempt shoes (that he must lick) and scruffy socks. But actually, if he could see her face instead of just her footwear, he would realise that she is stunningly beautiful, and he is the grungy-looking one!
