Sadly for the smokers’ feetkisser, his betters don’t have to use him. He may only kiss their feet if they deign to present them to him, and many superior people just ignore him.

Here we see the footslave yearning to get his lowly lips on the bohemian mistress’s brown suede leather boots, especially as he can see that she is wearing white socks inside her boots! The leathery tassels on her boots remind him of whips, and he kind of wishes she would turn around and ignominiously lash him across the face with her boot tassels.

But, frustratingly, she steadfastly ignores him as she stands with her back to him, deep in conversation with a handsome free man, a proper man; a man whom she can respect!

So, all the lowly impotent footslave can do is look and dream.
