Figure of Speech

It seems my selfish moans and groans are keeping the neighbours awake:

‘Keep the noise down, slave. Your moans and groans are disturbing the neighbours!’

‘Yes, mistress Kate madam. I apologise mistress Kate madam. I shall endeavour to suffer in silence, madam.’

‘If you don’t, I’ll give you something to moan about – one thousand lashes!’

‘Yes, mistress. Please don’t beat me mistress. Not the WHIP madam!’

Better to obey, and to suffer in silence in the wonky stocks, than to feel the added STING of my mistress’s WHIP!

‘Keep the noise down, slave. Your moans and groans are disturbing the neighbours!’

‘If you don’t, I’ll give you something to moan about – one thousand lashes!’

The mistress has brought her WHIP - to reinforce her message!

'I apologise mistress Kate madam. I shall endeavour to suffer in silence, madam...

...Please don’t beat me mistress. Not the WHIP madam!’

Better to grovel and fawn to her BOOTS...

...and SOCKS...

...than to feel the mighty STING of her WHIP!

Her WHIP!

Her WHIP, I say!

Incidentally, my mistress Kate, sweet and kind young woman that she is...

...would not literally seek to deliver 1000 LASHES to my back!

It's a figure of speech...

...the threatened number of LASHES being commensurate with the number of STITCHES in her SOCKS!
