The pretty, Chinese customer mistress, an overseas tourist, appears to speak no English. Nor does she even speak Chinese as she settles down onto the public shoelick chair of POWER above me, not even to bark her female orders down at me. She seems fixated instead on her text messages high above my humble head!
But, to be fair, she has no need to speak to me in any language. It is clear what I must do - tongueshine her SHOES. That's all I do - tongueshine the SHOES and BOOTS of my BETTERS!
So I must simply get on with it!

| I, literally, look up to her SOCKS... |

| ...from my lowly position |

| I do so with FEAR and ADMIRATION for my customer... |

| ...and her SOCKS! |

| I particularly admire the glimpses of SOCK through the various holes in her SANDALS... |

| ...including areas of RED and YELLOW SOCK! |

| What a lowly life I lead... |

| ...as a humble tongueshiner of SHOES! |
 |
| Meanwhile, the customer's SOCKS are far from her mind |
 |
| She is fixated on the contents of her phone |
 |
| Just think of the damage that female finger could do to me if it so wished |
 |
| It could poke my eye out with impunity! |
 |
| I should be grateful, therefore, for small mercies... |
 |
| ...that I can silently study her superior SOCKS, whilst she ignores my lowly presence! |
