In The Coffee Shop

Ms Mukta is enjoying a coffee with one of her friends, Ms Li Yan, in the local coffee shop. Needless to say, there are no refreshments for Ms Mukta’s personal footslave. By law, he must simply kneel under her chair and study the backs of his mistress’s socks – noting, in particular, the subliminal movements in his mistress’s socks as she converses, oblivious to him, with her friend high above him.

His main challenge is to focus exclusively on his mistress’s socks and to not be distracted by the socks of others around him. For, whilst it is true that he is the slave of everyone’s socks, his primary loyalty must always be to his own mistress’s socks. Therefore the purple-patterned socks of her interlocutor, Ms Li Yan, and the white socks of the nearby barista-mistress, must remain in his peripheral vision only.

Fortunately for the slave, Ms Mukta’s socks, though plain grey in colour, contain lots of little loveheart logos, so there is plenty for him to admire and to concentrate on in his mistress’s socks.
