At Everyone's Mercy

A pretty mistress mockingly asks me how I am liking it – having people’s dirty feet and shoes resting on my face all day – before placing her own dirty bootsole on top of my forlorn face! It just goes to show how I am at the mercy of everyone  whom I encounter - and can expect none!
