It’s an unambiguous order. It must be obeyed!

‘Yes, mistress. At once, mistress madam!’ 

She approaches me with confidence

She looks down on me with disdain

‘Kiss my boots, slave boy!’

Mind the spikes!

Her ornate boots are worth more than me

She is worth more than me

And she knows it!

Her boots leave me to rot in the dirt behind them

I am less than her boots...

...and therefore bow my head behind them accordingly
