Lowly Sandal Sucker

It’s not just the princess’s feet that I must kiss in the palace corridor, but the feet of all the women who pass by me. That’s because I am the lowest of the low – a common, ornamental footslave.

I am the lowest of the low - a mere kisser of corridor feet!

My lowly lips are not even considered worthy enough to touch my betters' bare toenails!

I can look at their toenails, but not touch them!

So near, and yet so far!

I'm just a 'sandal sucker'

My lowly lips must constantly embrace the pointy sandal-toes of my Egyptian betters!

I am forbidden even to look up at their sandalled legs!

How they despise me!

They cannot believe how lowly and insignificant I am!

A mere 'thing' down in the dirt that SUCKS on their SUPERIOR SANDALS!

A nothing and a nobody!

Unfit even to touch BARE FEET with my menial mouth!
