Scruffy

A public humble-head slave like me often finds himself having to kiss-respect scruffy, everyday footwear. But such unkempt footwear must be afforded the same degree of slavish respect as the smartest and shiniest of shoes, since it is still the footwear of a person who is my better.

Scruffy, everyday shoes and socks for the public humble-head to respect

My menial mouth touches sneaker dirt whilst my servile eyes observe sock dirt

However unkempt, these shoes and socks must be respected, as they are the shoes and socks of my better

I make sure my lowly lips embrace the dirtiest parts of the customer's outstretched shoe

I also make sure to keep my humble head bowed in the presence of such shoe and sock greatness

These shoes and socks are worth more than me

I am privileged and honoured to touch and observe their everyday street dirt

As the sign says above my feetkissing head, I am but a slave - a slave of shoes and socks...

...the shoes and socks of my superiors

Meanwhile, the haughty wearer of the shoes and socks interrupts her phone surfing to inspect my work

'Kiss the other side, stupid slave!'

I silently obey the customer's curt command, since I am forbidden to talk back
