Her smile, as she approaches the dirty alcove slave, is not a friendly one. Rather, it is a supercilious one; a dominant one; a cruel one. Nevertheless, it is still a pretty smile, on a pretty face, that says:

‘You are in my power and at my mercy, slave. I can do what I like to you, so I’m going to humiliate and degrade you with my boots!’

And that’s exactly what she does!
