Nose-Topping
Regular customer-mistress, security-guard Ms Aneka madam, oftentimes orders me to ‘nose-top’ her socks whilst I am lickshining her dirty shoes.
To ‘nose-top’ a sock means to have to run the tip of your nose along the top line of stitching in the sock, taking great care not to touch the sock-wearer’s bare ankle skin, and all the time respectfully breathing in the aroma of the sock.
It’s a tricky enough procedure at the best of times – fraught with danger, even for a socks-fancier like me, for if your nose does inadvertently stray onto the customer’s bare leg skin you can be sure of a public flogging. You are therefore reliant on the customer-master or mistress keeping their foot perfectly still.
The dangers are even more pronounced if, as is the case with Ms Aneka today, who is evidently in her off-duty attire, the customer-mistress is wearing a pair of frilly socks – for the enhanced peril is that one’s nose becomes ticklish, due to brushing against the feminine sock-frills, thereby causing one to sneeze all over the mistress’s precious ankle and sock. The penalty for that is a public flogging followed by a life of hard labour in the underground slave mines – a fate worse than death.
Therefore, as I nose-top Ms Aneka’s off-duty, frilly white anklesocks I do so most fearfully and gingerly!
P.S. Incidentally, the Gynarchy Authorities are currently holding a public consultation into alternative punishments to the slave mines for public footslaves who inadvertently sneeze over their customers’ socks – mainly because it is happening so often that there is now a shortage of qualified sockslaves out on the streets.
