Engrossed
This wretched head-in-the-wall footslave would dearly love to be of service to the two smoker-mistresses standing over him, but he is being completely ignored as they are engrossed in conversation. And rightly so, since he is a nothing and a nobody.
He must, therefore, engross himself in studying their socks – and especially the black, nylon kneesocks of the young black woman standing nearest to him.
So what does the fool observe about her socks?
Firstly, he observes that her socks are higher than him and better than him. Indeed, the idiot’s neck is so tightly confined in the wall he cannot even raise his head high enough to see the elasticated stitching at the top of her socks. What a moron!
What he canobserve is the lower parts of her socks, including the edges of the reinforced toe and heel areas. Most of all, of course, he is witness to the latticed-stitching which runs the entire length of her socks, and he is probably contemplating how long it would take him to respectfully nose those v-shaped lines of stitching in her socks (not that the pretty, black wearer of the socks is about to give him her female permission to do so!). I expect it would take him several hours to nose her socks properly and respectfully, for he would have to take great care not to inadvertently brush the tip of his slave-nose against her soft, bare legskin beneath the sock – so large are the individual stitches in the pattern of the socks. He has no business nosing her bare leg! His ugly nose is fit only to trace the latticed lines of stitching in her socks!
Of course, the fool is not unaware of the grey, cotton ankleboot-socks of the black mistress’s blonde interlocutor, particularly as they are made of thicker material than the black girl’s kneesocks, and are more creased and folded at the top. But the blonde girl’s socks are way out of reach to him – so far away, indeed, it is difficult for his puny brain to even imagine nosing the thick grooves in the elasticated tops of her cotton socks. They must remain on the periphery of his lowly vision, and his menial mind!
What he most definitely cannotsee is the pretty faces of the two young women high above him. He can only imagine how pretty they must be, based on their socks. And, based on their socks, he imagines them to be very pretty indeed! He is right about that, of course; but he is wrong to even be thinking about their facial beauty or otherwise. He really should be focussing his mind on the beauty of their female socks, since his own ugly face is down amongst their shoes and socks.
Just as the two beautiful young women have much higher things to think about, and talk about, than their socks!
