Surrounded By His Betters

This lowly, urban, head-in-the-wall footslave is surrounded by his betters:

·         The Asian girl who is currently having hr dirty red, white and blue sneakers kissed is better than him as she is wearing grey socks inside her sneakers
·         The young black woman standing next in line behind her is better than the slave because she is wearing white socks inside her grubby, pink canvas sneakers
·         The chubby, young woman enjoying a cigarette behind the black girl is better than the slave because she is wearing bright red socks inside her black leather pixie boots (plus, she is a smoker!)
·         The Asian master-sir standing behind her in the queue is better than the slave as he has hairy feet and dirty toenails waiting to be kiss-respected
·         The black man seated on the steps is better than the slave as he is free to converse with beautiful, young women as an equal (whilst under the influence of alcohol)
·         The blonde-haired punk girl is better than the slave as she is wearing white socks inside her scruffy, black and white converse sneakers (plus, she is a smoker)
·         The girl passing by in the Union Jack top is better than the slave as she is wearing white socks with blue elasticated tops and reinforced toe areas inside her high heeled shoes
·         Even the stray dog is better than the slave as it is free to run around and gets to sit and stare at the feet and footwear of whichever human being it chooses – unlike the slave who must focus on whichever foot happens to be presented to him at the time

Yes, each and every one of them is superior to the footslave, and don’t they just know it! You can see it in the smug expressions writ large on their handsome, urban faces.

Morning, Noon and Night

Morning, noon and night the city centre drain slave gets walked all over by uncaring customers. Most of them don’t give a second thought, or even realise he’s down there beneath their dirty sandals and shoes! As far as they are concerned, they’re just walking over a dirty municipal drain – part of the city’s sewer system! Casually and unconcernedly walking over the drain slave He gets a good view of her pink flip-flops... ...along with her pedicured toenails! Such feminine footwear - effectively walking all over him! He can see the ingrained dirt on her flip-flop soles She can't even see him at all - or, at least, she's not even looking, being engrossed on her telephone call high above the lowly drain slave! All too soon, as with nearly all his customers, she's gone - getting on with her superior life! She's a student from the local uni, out for a night on the town. She walks over dozens of drain slaves during the course of the evening, and doesn't give a second thought to any one of them! Her sandal treads almost touch his face... ...as she casually strolls across the bars of his drain Her sandal sole is momentarily close enough for him to be able to inspect the dirt in between the treads! He can also discern the shape of her well-turned ankle beneath her pink slacks But he is powerless to touch either her shoe or her ankle!
