'Socks' The Laundry Slave

The old laundry slave man has been disparagingly nicknamed ‘Socks’ by the laundry customers as he must spend all day and every day washing their dirty socks by hand – the sweaty socks of strangers!

Furthermore, he must do so under the strict supervision of the laundry mistress, Miss Ying Li, who brooks no slacking on his part and ensures his continued humility and respect for his customers’ socks through the copious application of her cane to his back!

Right now, ‘Socks’ only wishes he could be washing Ms Ying’s thick grey socks – the ones she has on inside her boots – as they look nice and soft on her ankles.

Haha - truly the slave 'Socks' is aptly named, for he must spend all his days smelling, feeling and washing other people's dirty, sweaty socks!

The socks he would really like to get his humble hands on...

But her socks are currently out of bounds, as she is still wearing them!

Note how socks is well-trained not to look at anyone above the socks

That's because he realises he is worth less than their socks...

...being a mere sock laundry slave!

He understands that every individual stitch in Ms Ying's thick, grey bootsocks, for example, is worth more than him!

Right now, a particularly smelly pair of plain brown socks have been added to his washbowl

He's not looking forward to touching them - but touch them he must, for he is the slave of socks!
