Man's Place vs Slave's Place

The young and handsome man is seated where a real man should be – next to his beautiful female partner, cuddling and canoodling with her as her equal. The slave, meanwhile, must lie on the dirty floor behind his master and mistress, studying the backs of their shoes and socks, as befits a pathetic old slave man!

This slave knows his humble place...

...and it's kneeling on the floor of the bus behind his master and mistress's feet

He studies BOTH their socks...

...focussing on the stitching...

...and comparing and contrasting inside his menial mind the patterns in the stitching between his master's black socks and his mistress's white socks

The pathetic old slave is particularly admiring of the fine lines of stitching in his mistress's socks...

...especially since her socks are so short!

But, if truth be told, he is very much the slave of BOTH his master and mistress's socks!

The wearers of the socks, meanwhile, cavort and canoodle with one another high above the lowly slave

For his humble part, he continues to diligently focus on the backs of their socks

He knows he is not worthy to think of his masters above the socks

And so he dare not divert his gaze from their socks

He affords them equal slavish respect...

...but passes his lowly, demeaning time by attempting to count the visible stitches in his mistress's short, white socks!

A Footslave's Reflections

  As nighttime draws the curtain on yet another humble day kissing and licking the shoes and boots of my betters, I humbly reflect on my lowly life. I feel privileged to be a public humble-head, kissing the feet of my superiors and getting to know their socks. Sure, if I was a personal footslave to a master or mistress I would become much more intimately acquainted with their feet and footwear – particularly their smells ! But ‘variety is the spice of slave-life’, as they say, and as no two pairs of socks are the same, I certainly get to observe a lot of variety! Every stitch, every crease, every area of bobbling on my esteemed customers’ socks -some of whom are regular visitors to my confined face, others just ships that pass in the night – is worthy of my slavish praise and adoration, since it is a feature of the sock of one of my betters, I being inferior to all !
